Julie Scholz began making pictures in 1987 when she studied photography at SUNY Oneonta under the guidance of renowned photographer and teacher Andrea Modica. She has also taken darkroom classes and received many years of support and encouragement from Sally Savage, the widely published and shown photojournalist.

Since getting her BA in Studio Art, she has worked in various aspects of photography. Julie has participated in many group and solo exhibits.

She says "I am intrigued by the sometimes intricate and subtle beauty of flowers and seek to express my love for them in my work.I try to approach photography with a painterly eye and sometimes think of myself less as a photographer and more as a lazy painter."

Julie is a married mother of 2 teenagers, 3 Beagle girls and a Dachshund boy. they all, and her husband, happily live in Rockland County, N.Y.
